Check-in and check-out inspections
Document the car at both ends of every trip. This is your best protection.
Updated October 10, 2026
Each trip has a check-in before the guest drives and a check-out when the car comes back. Both of you can record one. The reports are saved to the trip with time stamps and remain available after the trip ends.
What to record
- Photos of every side, the wheels, windshield, interior, and any existing damage.
- Fuel or battery level.
- Odometer reading.
- A short note about anything unusual.
Why it matters
When a claim or charge is reviewed, Seifly compares the check-in and check-out. Complete, well-lit photos make a claim quick to decide. If there is no check-in, it is hard to show damage was not there before.
Finding the reports
The Inspection reports row near the top of every trip page lists each saved report with its type (check-in or check-out), who recorded it, and when. You can Download PDF for each, even after the trip is closed.
If the window is closed
Check-in and check-out can only be started within their time windows. If a stage shows as Not completed, the window passed without a report. Tell support if there was a reason you could not complete it.
