Car is dirty, damaged, or unsafe at pickup
Do not drive it. Here is how to decline the car and get a full refund.
Updated October 10, 2026
You are not expected to take a car that is not clean or not safe. You can decline it and receive a full refund, as long as you follow these steps.
What to do
- Do not start the check-in and do not drive away.
- Take clear photos or a short video of the problem.
- Tell your host in the trip messages.
- Contact Seifly support right away, with the photos, using the trip’s help tools.
What counts
- Dirty interior or exterior beyond a normal level.
- Damage that makes the car look different from the listing.
- Safety issues: warning lights, worn or flat tires, brakes that feel wrong, broken lights, or anything else that makes you doubt it is safe.
If a problem appears after you have left
If you start driving and notice a problem that makes the car unsafe, pull over safely, do not keep driving it, and contact your host and Seifly support. See Breakdowns and mechanical problems.
