Reviewing and approving the host’s inspection
When the host records the car’s condition, you review the report. Look closely before you approve.
Updated October 10, 2026
When your host records the check-in or check-out, you will be asked to review that report. Approving it means you confirm that the report is accurate and that you have found no additional damage beyond what is shown.
How to review
- Open your trip from My trips. The inspection reports row near the top shows what is waiting for you.
- Open the report and look at every photo. Compare each photo with the car in front of you.
- Check the fuel or battery level and the odometer against the dashboard.
- If everything matches, approve the report. If you see damage that is not listed, or a number that is wrong, add your own photos and tell the host and Seifly before you drive off.
Take this step seriously
Guests sometimes tap through an inspection without looking, particularly at an airport or late at night. Once you approve, the report is the agreed record of the car’s condition. If damage is later found that is not in the report, it can be treated as having happened during your trip. The Terms of Service set this out as well.
Editing after approval
If the host changes a report after you approve it, your approval is reset and you are asked to review it again.
Do it right away
Review the report while you are still standing at the car. It is far easier to spot differences then than days later.
