My payment was declined
Why a card can fail at checkout and how to fix it.
Updated October 10, 2026
A declined payment comes from your bank, not from Seifly. Common reasons:
- Not enough available balance or credit for the trip plus any security deposit hold.
- The card issuer flagged the payment as unusual. Calling your bank usually fixes it.
- A wrong card number, expiry date, security code, or billing postal code.
- A limit on online or international payments.
- A debit or prepaid card that does not support authorization holds.
What to try
- Re-enter the card details carefully.
- Call your bank and ask them to allow the payment, then try again.
- Use a different card.
If a payment failed but you were charged, the amount is usually a temporary authorization that falls away in a few business days. Contact support if it does not.
