Instant Book listings

Some hosts turn on Instant Book. On those listings you do not have to wait for the host to approve your trip. You see an Instant Book badge on the car, and the button at checkout says Complete Booking instead of Request to Book.

What happens when you complete an Instant Book booking

• The booking is confirmed straight away.
• Your card is charged when you complete the booking. It is not just an authorization.
• The host is notified and will contact you about the handoff in the trip messages.
• The cancellation policy applies from the moment you book. You can still cancel for free up to 24 hours before the trip starts, or within 60 minutes if the trip starts in less than 24 hours.

How to tell which type of listing you are on

Look at the badge on the search result and the car page, and at the payment note on the checkout page. For a normal request it says your card is authorized now and only charged if the host accepts. For Instant Book it says your card is charged when you complete the booking.
