Who can rent a car

Requirements to book

• You must be at least 21 years old to book a car. You can create an account from age 18, but you cannot book a vehicle until you are 21.
• You need a valid, unexpired driver’s license that is accepted in the place where the car is located.
• You must complete our identity and license verification.
• You need a payment method that can be authorized for the trip and, where the listing requires it, a security deposit.
• All information in your account must be accurate, current, and complete.

Why the details matter

Only the person who booked the trip and any additional drivers you add through Seifly are allowed to drive. If someone else shows up at pickup, or the license cannot be verified, the host can refuse to hand over the car and the trip can be treated as a no-show under the cancellation policy.

Seifly may ask for more

Depending on your account and the listing, Seifly may add requirements before a trip can start, such as a security deposit, a second form of payment, or the purchase of a protection plan. Where the law permits, we may also review your driving record or run other checks, as described in the Terms of Service. We can accept or refuse a booking request at our discretion.
