How trip pricing works

Every line of your total: trip price, Seifly service fee, extras, taxes, and delivery.

Updated October 10, 2026

Before you send a request, checkout lists the price of the trip line by line. The number you see is the number you are asked to pay, apart from any later charges described below.

What is in the total

  • Trip price. The host’s daily rate across your dates. Hosts set their own rates and may offer discounts for longer trips.
  • Seifly service fee. What Seifly charges for running the platform, payments, verification, and support.
  • Protection plan. Optional plans that reduce what you would pay out of pocket if the car is damaged. See Protection plans for guests.
  • Delivery fee. Only if you choose delivery.
  • Add-ons. Anything the host offers, such as child seats, that you choose.
  • Young-driver or other fees. Shown if they apply.
  • Taxes. Where the law requires, Seifly collects taxes and shows them as separate lines.

Charges that can come later

Your payment method is also used for amounts you may owe after the trip, such as tolls, extra miles, late returns, damage costs that are your responsibility, and related administrative fees. These are listed in Tolls, extra miles, and other trip charges.

Promotional credits, referral credits, and vouchers follow their own terms and have no cash value unless the law says otherwise.
