Charging a guest for fuel or electric charge
When a guest returns the car with less than they started with.
Updated October 10, 2026
Guests are expected to return the car with a similar fuel or battery level to the one they started with, unless you agreed otherwise. If they didn’t, you can file a low fuel or charge charge.
- Compare the fuel or battery level in the check-in and check-out reports.
- Work out what it cost to bring the car back to the starting level.
- File the charge from the trip with the amount, a note, and the photos or receipt.
- This charge type has a maximum amount, shown when you file.
- Charge only what it really cost.
- Photos of the gauge or battery level at both ends are your evidence.
