Charging guests after a trip
Cleaning, smoking, pets, fuel, late returns, and extra miles: how to file a charge with evidence.
Updated October 10, 2026
If a guest’s use of the car cost you money, you can file a charge from the trip page. Charges are made against the guest’s payment method or security deposit, and the guest is notified.
Charge types
- Late return.
- Excessive cleaning.
- Smoking in the vehicle.
- Undeclared pet.
- Low fuel or charge.
- Extra miles driven (enter how many miles over the limit; your per-mile fee is applied).
- Other.
Each type has a maximum amount, shown when you file, and charges are meant to cover genuine costs only. Seifly also deducts its own fee on extra miles.
How to file
- Open the trip from your host bookings and find the charge section.
- Choose the type and enter the amount.
- Add a note and attach photos or receipts. Your check-in and check-out reports help.
- Review the details and confirm. Check the amount carefully before you confirm.
