Reading a car listing
What each part of a listing tells you before you request a trip.
Updated October 10, 2026
A good listing tells you almost everything you need to decide. Look at these parts before you request a trip.
Photos and description
Hosts must post photos and descriptions that accurately show their car. If a listing does not look right, or the car is not as described when you arrive, you can decline it at pickup. See Car is dirty, damaged, or unsafe at pickup.
Features and vehicle details
The features list shows things like seats, fuel or electric charging, transmission, and technology in the car. Hosts must tell you in the listing if the car has any device that can locate it, collect data, disable it, or capture images.
Price, mileage, and extras
- The daily rate is set by the host and can change with the date and trip length.
- The host may charge a fee for each mile over the limit that you are allowed. If a limit applies, it is shown on the listing.
- Optional add-ons offered by the host appear in checkout with their own price.
- Delivery, when offered, has its own fee that depends on the distance.
The host
Host ratings and reviews from earlier guests show how responsive and reliable they are. A host who answers quickly and has many trips is usually a safe pick for a first booking.
Pickup details
The listing shows the pickup location and the hours the host is available. Your host will confirm handoff details with you in the trip messages.
