Keeping the car clean

Normal use leaves a car a little dusty. You are expected to return it in essentially the same condition you received it.

• Throw away rubbish, bottles, and food packaging before you return the car.
• Shake out the mats if you have been to a beach or muddy place.
• Deal with spills quickly before they stain.
• If something unusual happens, such as a spilled drink or a sick child, tell your host in the messages with a photo. Most hosts appreciate being told.

If a car needs more than a normal clean, the host can file an excessive cleaning charge with photos. Your check-in and check-out photos show the starting and ending condition.
