Disclosing cameras, trackers, and other technology
The law, and our rules, on devices that locate, monitor, or record.
Updated October 10, 2026
If your car has a device or manufacturer feature that can locate it, collect data, disable it, or capture images, you must follow the law and tell guests in the listing. That includes GPS trackers, dashcams, in-cabin cameras, and a manufacturer’s connected-car services.
- Describe the device and what it does, in the listing description.
- Use it only for what the trip needs, such as recovering a stolen car. You cannot use vehicle location to follow a guest.
- Cameras that record the inside of the car or its passengers are subject to strict laws in many places. Check yours.
