Community guidelines

Last revised: October 8, 2026

Seifly works because people share something valuable with people they have not met. These guidelines describe what we expect from everyone on the platform, hosts and renters alike. They sit alongside the Terms of service, and breaking them can lead to the steps described at the end of this page.

Be respectful

  • Treat every person with courtesy and patience, in messages and in person.
  • No harassment, threats, hate speech, or abusive language. We do not allow discrimination of any kind. See our nondiscrimination policy.
  • Respect people’s privacy. Do not share another person’s photo, address, phone number, or other details without their permission.
  • Keep conversations on Seifly messaging so there is a record if something goes wrong.

Be honest and accurate

  • Hosts: describe your vehicle truthfully, with current photos, correct mileage and features, and honest notes about any damage, quirks, or limitations.
  • Renters: give accurate identity and license details, add every driver through the platform, and tell the host about anything that happened during the trip.
  • Write reviews that reflect your real experience. Do not trade reviews, offer or ask for payment for a review, or post fake ones.
  • Do not pay, charge, or arrange anything outside Seifly. Staying inside the platform keeps both sides covered.

Keep everyone safe

Hosts

  • Keep your vehicle safe, clean, registered, insured, and free of open safety recalls, and fix problems before the next trip.
  • Remove weapons and personal belongings before handing over the vehicle.
  • Do not hand over a vehicle that you believe is unsafe. Cancel and let us know instead.

Renters

  • Drive legally and safely: obey the speed limit, wear a seat belt, never drive impaired or distracted, and use child seats where required.
  • Never let anyone who is not an approved driver on your trip drive the vehicle.
  • Do not use the vehicle for racing, towing, off-road driving, rideshare, or delivery unless the listing and Seifly allow it.
  • If an accident or injury happens, get to safety, call emergency services if needed, and report it to Seifly right away.

Take care of the vehicle

  • Complete the check-in and check-out photos at the start and end of every trip so any damage is documented fairly.
  • Return the vehicle on time, at the agreed place, with a similar fuel or charge level and in the condition you received it. No smoking, and clean up after yourself and any pets.
  • Report damage, warning lights, or mechanical problems as soon as you notice them.

Communicate and be reliable

  • Respond to messages and requests promptly, especially close to the trip.
  • Show up when you say you will. If plans change, tell the other person as early as you can and use the cancellation tools instead of going silent. See our cancellation policy.
  • If there is a problem, try to work it out with the other person first, and contact Seifly support if you cannot.

What is not allowed

  • Fraud, false identities, stolen or altered documents, or fake listings.
  • Using the platform to break the law, or to carry out an illegal activity in a vehicle.
  • Scams, spam, or soliciting people to use other services.
  • Tampering with a vehicle’s locks, tracking, or connected-vehicle features, or trying to avoid them.
  • Opening a new account to get around a suspension.

Reporting a problem

If something feels unsafe, unfair, or wrong, tell us. You can report a listing from its page, message us from your trip, or write to support@seifly.app. In an emergency, call your local emergency number first.

What happens when guidelines are broken

Seifly considers the circumstances and a member’s history. Depending on what happened we may send a warning, remove content or a listing, cancel a trip, reduce a listing’s visibility, suspend or permanently close an account, deny a claim, or involve the authorities. See the Terms of service for more detail.
