Additional policies
Last revised: October 8, 2026
The policies on this page are important additional policies that govern your relationship with Seifly. They are part of the Agreement described in the Terms of service.
Biometric data privacy policy
To confirm who is hosting or driving, Seifly and the third-party verification providers we work with may process, create, or otherwise hold biometric data when you complete the identity and driver’s license checks in the Services. This policy explains what that data is, why we use it, who can see it, and how long we keep it.
Biometric data defined
Biometric data means information such as a scan of face geometry that can be used to identify a person, including “biometric identifiers” and “biometric information” as those terms are defined by laws such as the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act, the Texas Capture or Use of Biometric Identifiers Act, and the Washington biometric privacy law, where they apply to you. A photograph, demographic information, or a physical description such as height or eye color is not biometric data on its own.
Purpose of collection
When you take a selfie or liveness check and scan your driver’s license, we or our provider may compare the face in your selfie with the photo on your license and check that you are a real person present at the time. We use this only to verify identity and driver’s license, to prevent fraud, and to meet legal and compliance obligations. Before we collect or generate biometric data, we will get your consent where and as the law requires it.
Disclosure
We disclose biometric data only as needed to provide the Services to you. We do not share it with anyone other than our authorized service providers unless:
- you or your legally authorized representative consent to the disclosure;
- the law or a regulation requires it, or otherwise permits it;
- it is needed to complete a financial transaction you requested or authorized; or
- a court of competent jurisdiction issues a valid warrant or subpoena that requires it.
We do not sell, lease, or trade biometric data.
Retention and storage
We and our providers keep biometric data only as long as needed for the purposes above. Except where the law requires longer, we will not keep a user’s biometric data past three years after that user’s last interaction with Seifly. To ask about or request deletion of your biometric data, contact support@seifly.app.
Copyright policy
Seifly respects the intellectual property rights of others and takes claims of copyright infringement seriously. We respond to notices of alleged infringement that comply with the law, and we may remove or disable access to material that infringes, and close the accounts of repeat infringers.
Reporting claims of copyright infringement
If you believe material on the Services infringes your copyright, you can ask us to remove it by sending a notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. §512(c)(3)). A valid notice must include:
- your physical or electronic signature;
- a description of the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed;
- a description of the material you believe is infringing and where it appears on the Services, such as the URL of the listing or page;
- your name, address, telephone number, and email address;
- a statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; and
- a statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act for the owner.
If we remove material because of a notice, we will tell the user who posted it. That user may send a counter-notice if they believe the material was removed by mistake, and we may then restore it as the law provides.

Connected-vehicle and location data
Some vehicles on Seifly can share information with us during a trip, and the Seifly apps can use your phone’s location when you allow it. This section explains how that data is used. It adds to the connected-vehicle terms in the Terms of service.
- What it may include. A vehicle’s location, mileage or odometer, speed, fuel or battery level, lock status, tire pressure, and diagnostic and damage records, and, where you allow it, your phone’s location during a trip.
- Host connection. A host who connects a vehicle to Seifly, for example to lock, unlock, or locate it, authorizes that access. Hosts must tell renters in the listing when a vehicle has technology that locates, monitors, or can disable it, and must follow the law when using it.
- When we use it. To run the trip, confirm pickup and return, keep people safe, investigate incidents and claims, prevent theft and fraud, and handle support requests. A host cannot use vehicle location to follow a renter outside of what the trip needs.
- Who can see it. The host and renter on a trip, limited to what the trip needs, and Seifly and our service providers. We may share it with law enforcement, insurers, and claims partners where the law allows or an incident requires it.
- Your choices. You can turn off location permission in your device settings, but some features, such as a safe check-in, may not be available without it.
Text message terms
Seifly sends text messages (SMS) for account and trip purposes, such as sign-in codes, booking confirmations and updates, pickup and return reminders, safety alerts, and responses to support requests. We do not send text messages for marketing.
- Consent. By giving us your mobile number and using the Services, you agree to receive these messages. Consent is not a condition of any purchase.
- Opt out. Reply STOP at any time to stop text messages. You may still get required account messages through other channels, and some features, such as sign-in by code, may no longer work. Reply HELP for help.
- Costs. Message and data rates from your carrier may apply. Message frequency varies with your account and trip activity.
- Delivery. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- Privacy. We do not share your phone number with third parties for their own marketing purposes. See our privacy policy.
