Aftermarket parts and modifications
What you can list, and what isn’t covered.
Updated October 10, 2026
- Cars with illegal modifications can’t be listed, and neither can cars that aren’t street legal where they’re shared.
- Aftermarket installations, such as racks, that are taken from or damaged in your car during a trip aren’t covered.
- If a modification affects how the car drives or what it’s worth, say so in the listing.
- Check with your insurer. Modifications can affect your own policy.
